Friday pictiures: Hyun Bin

A headache day? Surely this just calls for a pictorial collection of Hyun Bin's good looks. This collection is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] lesbiassparrow who started watching him in Korean drama "Ireland". Who is Hyun Bin? Of course he is yours truly's favourite Korean actor! Why? Because he is so nice to look at :D. You see, even as I was putting this collection together (for which credit with many thanks goes to soompi forums) my headache gone away as a puff of smoke. And this is all due to the therapeutic qualities of dimples!

Pole Smash Guy is rather manly when not walking face first into poles.

rotflmao :) But yeah he is pretty cute :)

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-08-17 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair, it's rather easy to look manly in comparison to walking around with "kick me" on your back and walking face first into poles.

[identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com 2007-08-17 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
But somehow it is cute ... in a geeky kind of way :)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Agree - I thought he was very cute in "Ireland".. Heroine choosing the ugly one over the cute one? I don't believe it at all!

[identity profile] lesbiassparrow.livejournal.com 2007-08-17 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
He is, isn't he? However, Ireland wasn't really kind to anyone in the looks department.

Though I think he should either commit in the facial hair department or go clean-shaven.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
I almost watched the whole of "Ireland" just for the sake of Hyun Bin's cute face. :D

Though I think he should either commit in the facial hair department or go clean-shaven.

He is very clean-shaven in Kim Sam Soon, but in "Winter Sonata" he has that disheveled look ** sigh ** my favourite, I confess! I am very fond of 2-day stubble in general. Even an ugly bloke can win me over with the 2-day stubble..

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I found him rather cute when he was walking into the poles. I would have suffered through "Ireland" if at the end he was the one to get the girl. ** sigh ** It was too unbelievable that the girl preferred that ugly guy (who happened to be her brother :D)

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, he looks rather endearing in the Ireland pictures, but I fear he may be Pole Smash Guy in my head forever.

I am concerned by how Kim Nim Joon went from hot to that in just one year between Damo and Ireland...I blame the questionable hair accessories and someone telling him those were sexy looks...

It was a bit hard for me because I watched "Damo" after I dabbed in "Ireland". :D You must watch something with Hyun Bin - I hope they will cast him in wuxia drama one day! "My lovely Sam Soon" is great and fabulous - have you seen it?

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, Haven't seen any Hyun Bin dramas, yet. I thought about Ireland after watching Damo, but the plot turned me off.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I would really rec "My lovely Kim Sam Soon". If I must be honest (:D) it is probably the most strongly written Korean drama among all I have watched. Also many gorgeous kissing scenes and Daniel Henney speaking English in BIG DOZES.

These are wonderful.

*dies*

I am glad you enjoyed!!!!! I crave a new drama with him, may be I will even watch "Millionaire's first love"

He is SO my korean boyfriend.. *daydreams*
He's my favorite. Thanks so much for the pics! ;)

I am so glad you enjoyed it!!

Keh... You know... I try to make myself to admire handsome Korean male actors for some time already... But, alas, completely without success! :) I'm able to admire their acting skills (when they have them), but it my eyes their handsomeness somehow doesn't work, I don't know why - they are NOT beautiful for me. Too masculine and mannish, may by, for my taste?

So I almost gave up on the subject. :)I'll stay with my Japanese bishonen(s). ;)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
You see, I am different on this. I find " bishonen" type of beauty quite interesting and unusual but in some extreme cases it is too much for me. For example, Kame is an incredibly popular actor and even though I admire his acting skills there is something in his looks that doesn't sit right with me. But on the other hand, Takuya Kimura is beautiful beyond belief. I don't know why - may be because he is rather on masculine side?

I can understand what are speaking about, just I'm on the opposite side in my personal tastes. Always admired guys who were a bit "feminine" in their looks - even in RL. So for me Japan film and dorama male stars are like Heaven on Earth. :D

As for Kimura... For me he's an ideal example of Japanese bishonen - absolutely ideal and harmonic blend of masculine and feminine side in one man. Идеальное сочетание начал инь и янь "в одном флаконе" - извини, не знаю, как сказать это по-английски.

I absolutely agree. I think he is a very rare example of being perfect.

Right you are. Because of it he's so unique.

He is ! :D

hyun bin! <333333
i love him in "a millionaire's first love"
he's so nice to look at, i just wish he doesn't grow facial hair, it's quite distracting.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I like his 2-day stubble look.. But again, I like this type of look on almost anyone. It does something to my hormones.. I haven't watched "Millionaire's first love" yet, I am a little afraid of too much angst.. :D

[identity profile] miss-dian.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
Guuuuh. Gorgeous. I have succumbed to the gorgeousness that is Hyun Bin :D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! I am so glad you did!

[identity profile] sajia.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Here via lesbiasparrow. All this love for the Korean male makes me wonder why there aren't more Asian guy- white chick couples in Vancouver. Memo to Hollywood: take advantage of English-speakers' lust for gorgeous East Asian guys. And South Asians. And Arabs - although, to be sure, there's this weird subgenre of gloriously awful Harlequin sheik romances that I have never read because there's only so much kitsch I can endure .

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! I always had a penchant for bad romance novels. :D But thinking seriously there is something that I am pondering about quite a while ago : I think in many ways I find Asian (and for some reason particular Korean) culture and their TV and movie traditions quite close to those of the country of my birth, Russia. :D And I agree with you that it is the time for Hollywood to expand their horizons!!!!

Ahhh! *faints*

I really miss him and his cute dimples! I wonder if he will have a new drama soon.

I'd really love to see him in a new drama!
