My daughter's sleep-over party extravaganza went much better and easier than I expected. Girls did sleep quite a bit of their sleep-over time (8 hours !!!! Weee!) and the rest of time they were happy without big fall outs or any other drama. May be I can do this again. :D

London trip I am off to London tomorrow. About 2 months ago we applied for Russian citizenship for my daughter and this was successful. Now I need to apply for a Russian passport for her (as in a piece of paper sense). Hopefully this should not take too long. But still Russian embassy in London is on of the most unfriendly places that have ever existed and it's officers like to shout at you unduly. Plus they like to change their rules and make many difficulties for the applicants. I will be glad when it is over.

But because this time I am going on my own and hopefully should have some time to enjoy London.. It would be fantastic if you could recommend some interesting places in London to visit?

Fannish bunch of things: Supernatural and La Femme Nikita

Supernatural finale was great, much better then I expected. . So many threads of the story were wrapped up very nicely and some new threads were opened. Heart-broken Dean kissing a dark demon lady was uber-hot (as

syliasyliasylia says). I don't even think for a minute that Dean is going to go to Hell in one year's time as he promised in exchange for Sam's life. Deal with demon ladies or no deal I am sure the boys will find their way out of this. What came very unexpectedly in the last episode and what somehow made Dean much dearer to me is that he seems to have a very low self-esteem and sense self-worth. Such an awesome, self-sufficient guy and somehow low self-worth!! I want to give him a hug!
Yes, it was a fabulous end of the season with some very nice special effects. My wish list for the next season – Please, please, please dear creators, can you write some interesting romantic interests for Winchester brothers? Pretty please again..

La Femme Nikita This is absolutely marvellous! I started watching it from

miss_dian's recommendation and – OMPH! SQUEEE! Why haven't I watched this before????? I really like it. It absolutely deserves it's own post with pictures but for now I am just going to squee some more for a bit. Both Nikita and her handler Michael are very cool and amazingly attractive and they are already prepared for a passionate forbidden love story. He was kissing her hand in the episode 4 !!! And Roy Dupius who is playing Michael has some very sweet accent! I just have read that he was born in Canada. Is this how Canadian accent sounds?? I am moving to Canada ASAP!

Dorama land: This is where I am going to eat my hat. :D I watched some more of "Proposal Daisakusen" and "Sapuri" and I am really liking them both.

Sapuri
In the episode 2 we see more of the inner-world of both Minami and Ishida Yuya and I am starting to like both of these so different individuals. Ishida Yuya seems to have that child-like wonder in him that is very endearing. Also there is something in the tone of the drama that is reminding me of "Anego", it is light and deep at the same time. But feel I am such an old lady because I can't stop thinking that Kame needs a haircut and a big roast dinner. Desperately.

Proposal Daisakusen Second and third episodes were lovely. My eyes went misty a couple of times, especially in the second episode. The story with coffee milk was cute, sweet and wonderful. I think I like the main message of this drama – our destiny isn't ruled by one or two important events but it is built day by day in a chain of daily insignificant occurrences. But again! I am finally turning into an old lady for sure ** weeps ** because I think Yamapi needs a haircut too! Or may be he needs to dye his hair as

scottishlass suggested. But something is not quite right. ** sigh **

Mawang I can't wait for the new episodes to be subtitled. I scouted in the soompi forums and spoilers are driving me crazy!!

This scene in the church KILLS me. I want to understand what they are saying. The way Hae In hugs Seung Ha from behind and he takes her hands in his and pulls them away even if this is obviously killing him? Oh, my poor heart!!!! This is so beautfil and passionate and heart-wrenching at the same time! And then he walks away steadily because she is watching but collapses outside!!!!!!

La Femme Nikita! I was so hooked on that series... I became a total fan after watching season 2 last episodes... Bruce Payne makes a guest star in three episodes and the triangle between Nikita, his character and Michael is the best thing ever! Love the story!
However I stopped watching around end of season 4 or beginning of 5...

I watched "Nikita" the film few times and it is one of my absolute favourites (and I even like the Hollywood re-make of it, "Point of No Return", mostly for Gabriel Byrne's case) but I haven't seen the series yet. I think they were airing these series in UK during the time I just arrived to UK (around 1998) and didn't watch too much TV back then as I could not understand English so well. (Hmm! Dark dark years!!!!).

EEEEEEE! Something to look forward to in the season 2!!

LFN was made in Canada, and most of the cast is Canadian. The actor who plays Michael, Roy Dupuis, used to live in Quebec. I love that show.

I know where your icon is from now!!! I am really blown away by this show, much more then I expected considering this was made 10 years ago and this type of show that involves technology age very quickly. But there is something ageless here. I watched "Love" episode from the first season yesterday and I shouldn't have because it definitely stopped me sleeping properly. :D

I never was a huge Buffy fan, even back in the day, but I always followed LFN. It used to air really late at night in Australia, and I remember setting my alarm to get up at like 1 am on a Wednesday, so that I could watch the final season. :)

Season 2 is just painpainpain. Wonderful stuff. The show really settles into its groove - it's ALL about Nikita and Michael.

WOW! But I absolutely understand. I don't know how I missed this - I think I was in between languages at the end of 90's . The same happened with Buffy - I saw few episodes on TV but I didn't understand much and plus they were showing Buffy during some crazy time (like 18.00) when my daughter was fully awake and I didn't think watching "Buffy" with me was very suitable for a toddler.

But they get to be together at the and, right?? :D

Now when I can compare I think "Painkiller Jane" reminds me of LFN somehow.. May be because both main characters are so strong but also so compassionate..

EEEE! He really looked quite gorgeous whilst being tired and lost, didn't he? I liked how they ended the story with their father as well. There definitely is hope ahead. If anything, the demon lady should fall in love with dean and cancel the contract. :P

I am deeply saddened by the lack of new subbed Mawang episodes! This will be a lesson to me about watching things that haven't finished, I think!

And yay! I am so glad you're liking La Femme Nikita! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I was CRAZY about it during high school and uni. I was obsessed, LOL. I loved the chemistry between Nikita and Michael. And Michael. Guuuuuh. Roy Dupuis is pretty in his own way, isn't he? I thought he was so enigmatic on screen, though he was such a minimalist. I have a friend living in the US but got the chance to attend one of his "meet & greet" events in Canada. It was actually for a charity event 'cause Roy supports the MIRA foundation if I'm not mistaken (raises cash to support blind dogs). And Roy also supports charity organisations behind the preservation of rivers in Canada (I think) *sigh* I actually know quite a bit about Roy's "personal" side (from what the media tells us anyway!) and one of the things I appreciate about him is that he still seems very grounded and not affected by the fame etc. Same with Peta Wilson (the actress playing Nikita). So, again, I was very much into LFN a few years back, hence my knowledge on the actors/actress and the series itself. I hope you will continue to like it!!! ^^

So glad you are liking Sapuri too!!! Yay! Not everyone likes it, and for different reasons too, but it was good fun for me, despite Kame being too skinny and all, LOL :D

When the season is over I can send "Mawang" to you. Crying Jo Ji Hoon saying something I don't understand is killing me. When "Mawang" started I was a little afraid that his character would be an evil one. But EEEEEE! I am so in love with this tortured Jo Ji Hoon! He is not evil, he is just broken!!

No, I agree. The Wincest is one of those things I don't understand. Or more precisely I don't understand how it has become one of the major pairings for this show. If there was just a few stories then I would simply see it as darker, more disturbing fic for this universe - but it is without a doubt the largest fan base. That I don't get.

(And I suppose in light of the recent LJ and incest discussions I must say that I understand part of the reaction to people that come from outside of fandom and see all these incest stories. Not that I condone shutting down sites without proper warning or serious investigation to what the site is about - but I get that people without fandom knowledge find it weird that there are so many incest stories floating around. yeah, I think the time has come to expand the SPN universe. They've dealt with the Yellow Eyed Demon and in a way closed that arc. So now it's time to stretch and give depth. Like you I think more recurring characters would be a good way to go. I've read a few places people that don't want changes to the SPN universe at all, but personally I think it would do the series good. If a series stops changing then there is a great risk of it becoming formulaic and that would be a shame.

Hee. I know. I think a lot of the confusion comes from the fact that it ends with an 'a', and that is usually seen as a girls name. Also in the 1980's there was this Elton John video called "Niktia" and that starred a very beautiful young woman - so maybe that is source of confusion as well?

Also, viewed from a storytelling perspective, I think it's wise to alter the show just a little. If not it will stagnate. I think the major problem for VM was that it didn't alter itself enough - and so it started to become stagnate in the mid s2, and became rather boring in s3.
(also I could never understand the Piz character in s3. he had no personality! To have him as a rival to Logan was just odd!)

** sniff ** Doctor NINE!! Is one of my most beloved characters. I really try to like Ten the same way but I think this is "just one love" thing. Nine's quirkiness, his dry sense of humour, his craziness. ** sigh again **

You know, I've been a Whovian since Before Children even :g: And there are Doctors I LOVE & Doctors I enjoyed. The TARDIS tales have always been the fascination. The Doctor is our view of time, the universe, and regeneration of heart, if not physical, life. Even when I've mourned the loss of one, I've managed to appreciate if not 'love' the next. It IS the reason there are, what 40 years? of Whovians around :g:

Take comfort, another Doctor will come along (not even buying 'only 13' doctors) AND there are DVDs to view Our Nine (& others) as much, & often, as possible and folks like me making Turnip Tail glances at you for more icons, (like the Dickens ep which I SO loved) when, you know, the mood strikes you :g:

I am thinking about watching some of the old Dr. Who one day. It is classic!!

Mawang is killing me with the lack of subtitles. :d I think the the blurbs about this drama were really misguiding. Jo Ji Hoon's character is NOT just a serial killer and the love story between him and Hae In is beautiful!

The subtitles are coming out really slow. All the other series that were playing pretty much all the subs have came out but this is still at 6? I wonder why it's so much slower. :( Oh you're making me curious!! I'm glad he's not just a serial killer! :)

I hope the subbers won't drop it. I know the ratings weren't so good but I love it.
