Blood ties: Henry Fitzroy is so pretty!

I knew it was a bad idea to watch "Blood ties" late at night but I had some ironing to do and I thought it would be a good idea to catch up. "Post Partum" was a good, very creepy episode apart from the monster at the end who was quite hilariously badly done. But my imagination filled the gap at the end and scary children in the scary fertility clinic were very frightening.

There was a big disappointment for me as Henry/Vicki shipper – Vicki was kissing quite passionately with Mike. Hmm.. Never mind, because Henry was so pretty! He was pretty Smiling! He was pretty in red! He was pretty in black! I think I am suffering from sleep deprivation delirium because my thoughts are shallow (and I hope that when I am going to bed I will see some good dreams of Henry in red!)

Heeeee! I was messing about with the pictures (there should have been only one of these). He is actually volunteering to go with Vicki to investigate creepy fertility clinic and he is saying something like "Look! I am a good daddy material". :D But HE!!! the guy is unearthly pretty..(Did I repeat pretty already 100 times?)

"Blood ties" is the best thing since "Dresden files" finished (** sigh ** they better come back next year!!)

okay so what we need is for Lifetime to get stupid and decide to cut the show after season 2. BUT we have hyped it so much that it started getting media coverage etc and Sci-Fi picks it up and puts the two on back to back.

or would that be too much to handle at once. hmm, Bob and Henry.

Hee! I was trying to watch a Kdrama without subtitles the other day and I agree - It is amazing how much of the meaning is in words.. Everyone's behavior looks so different without words. You probably more likely to understand the movie if you listen to it without watching then if you watch without sound. Sorry - digression!!!

I am getting quite worried actually! At first I was very sure "Dresden files" are going to be renewed but the time is passing by without any news. Hmmm!!

I will totally go for it! Bob is far too attractive for a person who is not hm.. ALIVE and of course Harry has his lovely snark (to add to his wonderful expressive face). At least we had a very nice Harry/Murphy episode at the end..

One thing I know is that book sales have apparently gone up a LOT since the show came out, which I think can only be good. And i really hope they announce season 1 DVDs soon, hopefully with an optional uncut version of Storm Front.

EEEE! I can't wait for DVDs. I never nmade any icons because my screencaps were BAD. realtanala made some great icons. But I do love your icon "Murphey's a blonde?" so. :D

Yeah, I haven't made any, either, but I want to. What the world REALLY needs are "my Harry can take your Harry" icons...not because I dislike Potter(opposite is true) but because they'd be fun.

Dresden Files is the only show in several years to actually keep me watching week to week, as opposed to watching enough to see if I wanted the DVDs and then waiting. There MUST be more.

I am indeed tempted by the pretty, but I am not yet invested in it.

EEEE! This could be great! I missed this parallel, I confess! I never was a fan of Harry Porter ** gasp **. Though my working colleague is bringing me the last Harry Porter book this week.. I'll try. Harry Porter fandom scares me to death. I am not THAT Edwardian but all the three-some stories I keep bumping into make me wonder. Harry and Co. Are kids, aren't they? I like everything to fit the character..

Hm.. May be I'll read some more of the other Harry instead.

Heh. I've only seen the HP movies myself, but yeah, the fandom can be scary. Actually, fandoms are scary in general, it seems. The HP fandom makes me scarily think of the anime/manga fandom.

Have you seen the last episode of this season? It was a great episode and more then in one way. All 4 or 5 of the last episodes of "Dresden files" are such a great class!

Do you mean in dorama fandom fans don't create so many non-canon ships? I never thought about this before but I think you are right. May be because dramas aways have a clear ending..

It's not so much the "clear cut ending" (many other fandoms have VERY clear cut endings and pairings)

I think that, in general, doramas tend to appeal to a more mature audience over all than other fandoms. A large part of that is likely because it's something of a smaller fandom than others.

Oh, interesting! I was always thinking that I am a freak of nature in dorama fandom. But again, haven't been in too many fandoms. I noticed both "Rome" and "Dresden files" appealed more to the older audience. I think it is more to do with the fandoms being smaller, i generally don't see as much of fanfiction in dorama fandom..

I think you can pick up easily because it is mostly episodic. There is a bigger arch with Vicki-Henry-Mike's relationship but nothing really important has happened yet. The next week's preview looked quite good. :D

Just to warn you (I am so afraid to rec something!! I will feel quite bad if you hate it) - the quality of monsters and cinematography could have been better.. But Henry is totally worthy of it. :D

Most doramas make fanfic irrelevant. Sure, you can do fanfic on something like Kurosagi or Trick, which are open ended and allow for additions. But something like Damo...can you imagine pertinent fanfic for that? It's a story with no holes and if you start trying to interpret anything open for interpretation, you're straying from the point, much like Casablanca or stories of that nature.(Of course, the same is true of other fandoms, too. I don't know how far you are in Wolf's Rain now, but there's absolutely NO room for interpretation(except the last 5 minutes) and no room for fanfic because there are no empty spaces. Yet, the fanfic persists...)

I didn't like Mike at first at all because he is not my type at all. But I must say after the latest episode I am wavering. Mike was so gentle and so in passion for Vicki. And this definitely made him look better!

I think the fandoms who have (or had) at some point an open ending generate more fanfiction. They may be have the ending at one point but they usually have MANY episodes.. I am new to anime yet, but I notice the most prolific fandoms, like "BSG", are still continuing in their story..

I love him! I love him! Vampires'stories aren't my favourite, but this series is very nice (i let you know that i always dislike Buffy and Angel, so you can undertand my happiness for a series like this one.)

I couldn't get into "Buffy" (and "Angel") too. In "Blood Ties" I am just so about Henry. I warmed up to Mike in the last episode but I wasn't keen on him before. What do you think about Mike?

About the actor i liked him on "Dawson's Creek" and when i saw him in this series, i thought "Woaoo! It's him!". About the character, i think he's the conscious side of Vicki. He tries to do the right thing for what his job requires. He has feelings for her and hopes that her professional (and personal relationship, i'd say) with Henry is not going to be dangerous, even if Henry has showed himself as protective towards her.
