Bank holiday update

1. I slept for about 12 hours today. It is like I have been storing sleep deprivation but gene is out of the box now and I am sleeping like a bear in hibernation
2. Sasha and I got a pair of new shoes each. Mine are pointy-nosed and black, hers are blunt-nosed and black too.
3. "Cozy cellar" project is moving forward, floor is getting painted, new shelves are on the walls and Mr.Alexander rocks.
4. Sasha and I watched Dr. Who "School reunion". It is not Mr.Alexander’s cup of tea, sadly, but I am so glad Sasha enjoying it! "School reunion" was very emotional for me. Dr. Who often is funny and even campy, but it doesn’t stop to amaze me because it’s creators are never afraid to go deep on emotional level. And I love the way they do it – without any pomp or special emphasis. Dr. Who’s feelings for Sara Jane were so genuine and gentle. I felt tears in my eyes when Doctor was explaining to Rose why he had to leave Sara Jane – because it was too hard for him to see somebody he loves "wither and perish".
But – he said he will never leave Rose. DOES IT MEAN he doesn’t love Rose???????
For me special effects were very good in "School reunion" and Anthony Stewart Head as evil Head-teacher was fantastic!
5. "A Feast for Crows" – I LOVE IT! I have a very strong reaction against Cersei at the moment. When I am reading the chapters of her POV I feel uneasy. It is like she sees the world from a completely different perspective. And her perspective is selfish, paranoid and manipulative. I used to think that she has some feelings for Jaime and I used to think she is cunning. I see now that she NEVER loved Jaime. And that she is not thinking, just acting. And that inside she is just like Joffrey. I feel very angry.
6. Sasha and I have watched "Corpse bride". It is filled with beautiful music. It is scary and funny, romantic and unusual. I had a "Wow" feeling from the beginning until the end. The atmosphere, the humor, the stunning animation – I adore it all. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are wonderful.

Date: 2006-05-01 03:53 pm (UTC)As to the doctor and Rose, I have a feeling that Rose is very different from any of the doctor's other companions. Yes he cared for the others but the dynamic he has with Rose is just so special. I get the feeling that he answered without thinking when she asked that question. A very instinctive: "I could not leave you behind" sort of feeling even though it's probably something that he knows he should do. That was my feeling anyway. For me, and not just because I am a shippy koala, I'm sure the doctor loves Rose very much.

Date: 2006-05-01 05:55 pm (UTC)I really liked "Corpse bride". Yes, the songs are beautiful and the story itself is very charming. I think I’m going to *have* to watch it again =) (Oh, and I loved that they made the characters resemble the actors who were playing them)
