Oh, definitely. I was saying the same thing to queenofthorns. Vorenus wants to die. I wasn't sure what the Roman Gogs view on suicide was, but as according to [Bad username or site: queenof thorns @ livejournal.com] it was not forbidden. I was thinking at first that Vorenus hasn't killed himself yet because suicide is forbidden.

But if suicide wasn't forbidden by the Gods, I think that Vorenus reached the point where he thinks his life equals Hell and he wants to challenge the Gods. Because they took everything from him. Which is a scary, scary thing.
