Story:

I have caught up with first 6 episodes of “Heroes”. It started a little slow for me, but now I am fully engrossed into the story. It is nothing original and follows lives of several people with “special” abilities in New York on a mission to save the world. I think for this is where my interest lies – it is a story that tells more about the characters then about anything else. And I can’t ever pass a “special abilities” story – I think this is connected to the fact that sometimes I dream that I have one too. Who doesn’t want to be a HERO? This is an extremely winning formula.

Characters

Clair Bennet - Cheerleader. She is very pretty, but young actress has a limited amount of facial expressions and often wears one of “annoyed doe”. And I still can’t quite figure out how she can trust her adoptive father. If anyone is a scary monster of Mr.Bennet’s ilk and wears his sort of spectacles, it must show every now and then, right?

Mr. Bennet Very scary and perverse-looking. He seems to be one of the aliens pretending to be humans from X-files. He must be an alien!!

Niki Sanders She is interesting to me, may be because she is a mother. I had a flicker of “OTP forever” during her meeting with Nathan. And I found the scene with her and Hiro’s friend hilarious and a little heart-warming. I honestly hope that she will learn to control her better half.

Niki’s husband DL Is he the same person as the guy with Mr. Bennet? And is the guy with Mr. Bennet the same person as Sylar? I am a little confused here.

Mohinder Suresh Every time I see him on screen I have that “OMPH, he is so hot” reaction (it was hugely magnified in the sweaty scene) and want to run and watch Bollywood movies. But I was not a little disappointed that he didn’t believe Peter. It seemed somehow contradictory – one day he is trying to discover his father’s legacy, another day he is just drops everything and returns back to Madras. Contradictory.

Hiro I don’t know what to make of him yet. On one hand, his and his friend’s exploits are hilarious and totally make my day. On the other hand, he (though unintentionally) has that smugness which always rubs me the wrong way a little. I will see.

Peter and Nathan Petrelli Are my favourites in this show. Even though Nathan seems to be a selfish so-and-so and Peter a little immature, I see that Nathan has a capability for redemption and Peter a capability to mature and discover himself.

PS: YAY! I am going to watch some more of this today.

Heroes is very winning. Peter is wonderful and Hiro is also lovely. He is a little smug but he's very naive and chances are he will suffer a terrible disappointment.

The Haitian is a different guy form Niki's husband. We don't know his name so everyone calls him the Haitian. Mohinder is hot but I find him kind of boring and angsty. Peter and Hiro try to do good, Mohinder just mopes a lot :)

Mohinder is hot but I find him kind of boring and angsty. Peter and Hiro try to do good, Mohinder just mopes a lot :) I feel I am coming to the same conclusion. I thought he would be interested to gather all heroes together and sort of "lead" them. but he just can't get out of the box.

And I forgot "Agent Weiss" - I must add him to my post. He is darling!

Yes, we don't know who Sylar is. Christopher Eccleston is joining the cast but no one knows who he is going to be right now. In terms of who works with Mr Bennet, so far it's the Haitian and one other person :D

Exactly, he has a narrative role but he keeps flying back to India :D Peter angsts but at least he DOES things.

My favourite episode so far has been episode 9 the latest one. It was very suspenseful. :D

What I like in Peter that he accepts his and others abilities, is not afraid of THE NEW and that thing he said "I was trying to save the world one person at the time." ** loves **

My favourite episode so far has been episode 9 the latest one. It was very suspenseful. :D

I was confused about this at first as well. But no he is a totally separate person from those other two, who are also separate people.

Yes, Mohinder is hot. Especially now that he's not in all those dark settings.

Interesting that you think of Hiro as smug. I've always thought of him like a little kid. So sure of himself that he can save the world and it's refreshing. On the other hand you know he's in for some big disappointments and you hate to se that cheerful, confidant and innocence lost.

My favorite is Hiro, because of the reasons I stated above. And because he is truly on the side of doing good and has a conscience. I like Niki, Claire and Peter as well. Although I can't wait till Peter gets a new hairdo.

I heard much about this show but as usually Italy is so slow at getting new stuff, I'm still waiting for Supernatural, and network told us 'as soon as possible' they'll give it to us... I don't know how much I'll wait for Heroes, so! I could watch it in english...but I'm writing/studying/reading too much stuff in english and mom starts saying I'm forgetting italian ;)

I have watched two more episodes of "Heroes" yesterday and must say - it is really drawing me in now. The storyline with radioactive man/Matt Parkman was excellent. I think I am almost in love with Matt now, he is just so much teddy-bear cuteness he was in "Alias" but plus to it so much more.

I've always thought of him like a little kid. So sure of himself that he can save the world and it's refreshing. On the other hand you know he's in for some big disappointments and you hate to se that cheerful, confidant and innocence lost.

I adored the scene in the diner with the super-memory waitress. I think I am on the same page with you guys now - Hiro is just so heartbreakingly innocent. I like his goofy friend Ando too.

Although I can't wait till Peter gets a new hairdo.

Definitely!! Peter! You are a good-looking boy! Please do something about your hair cut :D

This is me!! I am watching far too many things recently, though I love the variety of it. I don't think there is much risk of you forgetting Italian . :D

I'm just so curious about Heroes!

I have watched two more episodes and I like it more and more with every episode. It feels that creators thought it all through very well and every episode goes towards revealing more. It is a really good show.

I have!! It was indeed very good and poor Hiro is lost in time somewhere. I must say that originally "Save the cheerleader, save the world" made me "What???" , but it did work out nicely. Peter is soooooo lovely. And Mohinder seems to be deciding what he wants to do finally.

I know what you mean about gore, but I am not easily disturbed by it (Many years of Russian war films are to blame :D). Nothing yet even slightly comparing to "Battle Royale". :D

What I am confused about now is - mr Bennet is the bad guy? Or good guy?? . He started like a mastermind behind everything but in "Homecoming" he comes up as a lovely daddy. ???

Do you know what days they show "Heros"? I think I need my fix now.

I think it's on Tuesdays - same day as Prison Break. There are usually a lot of torrents up quite quickly.

I did a pic spam for Homecoming here (http://koalathebear.livejournal.com/665990.html) that has a preview for next week. I'm a bit worried that they saved the wrong cheerleader. Some people are saying perhaps that it was supposed to be Jackie that was supposed to be saved.

Peter and Ando are lovely and yes Mohinder is finally getting a clue. He's cute but so slow and angsty :D

I think Mr Bennet is ambiguous. He genuinely loves Claire but he's ruthless - look what he did to poor Isaac.

Actually, this makes sense. Claire has some fabulous gifts, but I can't quite see her as the savior of the world, unless something else will be revealed. JAckie, on the other hand, is "unknown variable" . HH, interesting. We will see.
