Alexandra Leaving

I read the Hunger Games trilogy a year after I'd read Battle Royale and I had the same feeling while reading the first book - that I'd already read this story before. But in its defense, HG goes way beyond what Battle Royale did and develops a much richer (and different) world and storyline. Still, I think having read Battle Royale first definitely altered my enjoyment of the series so I'm not quite as rabid about it as others on my flist.
