alexandralThis is very much in passing as RL is a bit tempestuous at the moment (my daughter has some problem with a friend - and I seem to worry over her problems much more than over my own ones, with my own problems I am usually "take a sword out and cut them all down" type).
I am still reading A Feast for Crows , I have gone through about 40% now. Brienne's and Sam's chapters are still a bit hard going, but the Kingsmoot chapters were great and so were Jaime's and Cersei's. I have a couple of questions/doubts about Euron and Aeron:
Just as was going to like Euron as an awesomely evil pirate, I found all those lines about Aeron being afraid of Euron and remembering his chidhood: "No mortal man could frighten him, no more than the darkness could . . . nor memories, the bones of the soul. The sound of a door opening, the scream of a rusted iron hinge. Euron has come again".
What is this all about? It seems like Aeron is remembering Euron abusing him (and his brother Urri) when they were kids? I think I do HATE Euron now.
Also, Euron is totally the man from Dany's prophesy, don't you think (see below):
"A corpse stood at the prow of a ship, eyes bright in his dead face, grey lips smiling sadly."
And even more, Euron's physical descriptions : pale face, blue lips are somewhat suspicious. Is he undead or something of the sort? Something like TheOther?
Also, I was so frustrated with Victarion again, I wish he agreed with Asha's proposal (she wanted to be his Hand) and combined their efforts. I remember being frustrated with him upon my first reading and I am frustrated again. But now I also have a wrong-ship: I think I ship Asha and Victarion.
