It is...and I must admit that I sometimes wonder if really everybody thinks like this all the time. I mean I see why e.g. Ned wouldn't forgive an oathbreaker under any circumstances but it seems as if really everybody completely blocks out how cruel Aerys was.
BTW: This (http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/06/the-flower-of-chivalry-in-the-seven-kingdoms) is the article I was talking about. It's not only about Jamie, but they come to him towards the end. I also find some of the comments quite interesting, especially the one that in a way Barristan betrayed the Targeryans just like Jamie.
