Well, I seem to remember Baelish elaborating on how much he hates Ned and Ned's brother and how much everything he does is influenced by that hate, which was something that didn't seem to be known to anyone. In fact Cat seemed to think him as a "friend ". It probably fitted better to have this hateto be spilled slightly later, but I am not too worried here.
