It's First of April! Summer time and trailer_spot's birthday!

And sadly, this is the first week of "British summer time", the one single thing that can be crowned as "Spoil alexandral's spring mood the most". I hate it, hate hate hate it. Hate is a strong word, but I just do not understand why do I have to go through with this nonsense year after year. I am generally not a morning person to start with, which may be the reason why the change in time tends to make me really tired for weeks.

I hear different arguments for summer time, each of them not without several arguments against:

1. We do it for the farmers! No - Apparently (as it was proved by some Australian farmers) time change affects cattle negatively. Biological clock of farm animal's goes haywire.

2. It is lighter and safer on the roads! No - if any people are like me, they are tired for weeks after the time change, hence prone to traffic accidents. I was that close to a traffic accident a couple of times this week. Plus: the traffic on Monday and Tuesday morning was HORRIBLE: everyone seemed to be running later than usual.

3. It helps to save the energy! I have looked into this: and no, no proven energy saving.

I want to immigrate to Australia, or simply go and protest.

PS; but it not all bad, of course. First of all: today is the birthday of the wonderful and knowledgeable [livejournal.com profile] trailer_spot.Happy BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second of all: it is spring! The weather is finally warm (ish?) , daffodils are blooming all over the place : happy weekend, everyone!!!!!

We had this a few weeks ago, and it took me forever to get acclimated. I hate it and don't know anyone who doesn't. I wish "they" would just choose one time or the other and stick to it.

Yes, I don't think there is too much difference in daylight if the time is only moved 1 hour there and back. But it makes a big difference for my level of tiredness. Somehow it seems to affect me more and more as I am getting older.

I loathe the time change in the Spring (Autumn's one is great). I wish they'd just give it up as it seems to make little difference one way or the other.

I agree with you wholeheartedly!

Always remember one thing: you don't live in Scotland. XD That thought should make anyone from Yorkshire happy. ;D

I really like Scotland - it is lovely!

Thank you! :)

I probably shouldn't mention it. But I'm a big fan of summer time. I don't care about any of the arguments, it's just that I like it much better when the sun sets later in the evening. And thankfully it usually only takes me about half a day to adjust. :)

YAY!

I thought long and hard and I think the daylight saving time should be kept all-year round - I also don't mind the earlier nights, but I have liked them on in winter. In winter sun here gets up (the latest) at 8 (about) and sets at 16 , consequently you don't get any light after working hours. I think 9 to 17.00 would have been better. :D

It's the same times here. While in case of the second suggestion the sun would rise unusually late, I could live with both compromises. :)

See! We both agree! :D Finally, after a whole week, I am feeling a bit better. :D
