Supernatural season 5 : the end

I am fully back with "Supernatural" love because the season 5 was quite good. Both my daughter and I watched it with interest (and isn't it great to have someone to watch things with me - we seem to have similar tastes!!!) . To be honest, the ending of the season was quite week and very anti-climatic, but there were plenty of good episodes in the season. The best episodes for me were the ones with the Four Horsemen, and the episode 5.21, the one with Death, Pale Rider, is most definitely one of the strongest episodes of the entire series.

Death gives Dean his ring, he is not keen on Lucifer and wants him back in the cage.

This episode included one of my most favourite blue grass songs, "O Death", in a fantastic interpretation:

1. This is the actual scene that used the song (episode 5.21) from Youtube, for some reason unembeddable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1EzU9sLQ6I&feature=related

2. "Oh Death" sang by Jen Titus:

3. "Oh Death" sand by Ralph Stanley, which won him a 2002 Grammy Award in the category of Best Male Country Vocal Performance. He was 82 back then.

My daughter and I watch Supernatural, too! I'm all caught up but she's only seen through season 4. We are need to watch the season before season 6.

Thanks for the link for the O Death scene (so chilling!). I can't believe I didn't realize that's the Ralph Stanley song! Have you seen O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Sounds fantastic! We breathed though both seasons 4 and 5 in no time (and this was after we watched "Vampire Diaries" )

I love "Oh Brother", and the soundtrack for this film has long been one of our family favourite CDs . I was really happy to hear "Oh Death: again!

Is Vampire Diaries good for an almost 9 year old? Z loves all things vampire/supernatural.

It depends on what you think is best - it is much tamer than "Supernatural" and has much less swearing (I think :D), but it has numerous scenes of kissing and implied sex scenes (nothing shown, but you know.. ). But it appears that for my daughter (who is 11) sex process was explained at school completely (with videos :D) , so I don't worry too much.
