I'm anti-fidelity as well although I'm much harsher when the people are married/in a long term relationship or are older. Jason and Lyla were only 16/17 and even though they appear to be very mature for their age (as is the way with television :) I really see them as being little more than children playing at love. It's not realistic that they're going to be together forever. Maybe one day they could come back together but for them to become attracted to other people is natural. To be honest, even without the accident, chances are something like this might have happened simply because they are both so young and there's so much opportunity for them to grow up, apart, differently and fall in love with others.

When Lyla cheated with Tim, Lyla and Jason should have really broken up. I don't think that it was right for them to try to fix things especially when so much was going on. It woud have been best for them to call it quits and try to stay friends until things stablised some more. The fact that they tried, and then Jason cheated just made things worse.

It's interesting how Jason's accident had an impact on so many people - how it made a lot of people change and grow up, not just himself.
