I'm convinced that Gina was gong to kill herself no matter what. why she did it by blowing up cloud nine,maybe she felt it would fullfil her purpose as a cylon agent that orignally was sent on a misson to infiltrate the Pegasus. maybe after her treatment on Pegasus she decided to she wanted to die taking as many humans as possible. or maybe she just a flair for the dramatic.
I'm not surprised at all that version of Sharon and CapSix are resposible for the invasion of New Caprica. as for why they withdrew, I think we will be seeing that explained next season.
I don't have a problem with them jumping ahead a year as it is a show that moves so slowly. the mini was first on in 2003 and until the time jump only nine months had passed. I also do want to see some flashbacks next year for the year we did not see. just as long as it is not too many, I think it will be okay.
I just like that they are trying to take risks. it reminds me of The Wire second season when they started the whole dock stiryline and moved what had been the A storyline(Barksdake and his crew and the squad working against them) to the B one. a lot of people were confused(especially HBO execs) but season two was brilliant. and then season three moved back to the original storyline and effectively wrapped it up.
and I like all the WWII parallels- vichy France and the resistance. I also think(not originally my idea I saw some folks mention this on TWoP) and that Roslin is a bit like Churchill(you know minus the drinking and maleness)and Baltar is kind of Chamberlain-like.

as far as Starbuck goes I think she is really going to realize her full strength and leadership ability in season three. she was so strong in part one of LDYB. I hope that if Anders does die, that it will not send her into a tailspin. and I am really looking forward to seeing what Starbuck, Cally and the Chief, Roslin, the Tighs, maybe Gaeta form the new resistance movement. and we saw Leoben again, if nothing else made me happy that would have. I love him and CKR!
that said I see why a lot of people would not appreciate the finale as I did. BSG may lose some viewers but I think it might pick up some new ones as well.
