How pretty!!! If I may ask, though, how do you use these bases? I am very much a novice at graphic software. Usually when making icons I just take the pic/image that I want to make an icon of, and from there fiddle a bit with the cropping and colours.

You make gorgeous icons!!!!!!

With the textures like this I often use them as a frame , as in the icon in this comment: I made a 1) layer of the texture N3
2) layer of the actual picture, 80x80 size
3) LAyer of white 82x82 to make a small border.

Or you can use them to compliment longer images and in this case you make an image of 60X100 (for example) and add 40x100 cut of a texture.
