I think fatal to my reading was that I realized that I really found Lymond irritating
For me, there is a very fine line between "irritating" and "angsty" and alas, Lymond remained on the "irritating" side for me. I am sorry not to enjoy the books as much as my friends do--maybe I'll give 'em another try when I'm retired.
