The Legend (First king's four gods) : Icons

"The Legend" (or "First King's Four Gods") is one of the best shows I have seen among Western, Asian or other period/fantasy dramas. Unforgettable. I haven't been that much in awe (and true awe, as in AMAZINGLY GOOD TV awe) since "Rome", I think. I'll try to talk about this show in a way it deserves later.. I haven't slept properly last night in a crazy icon spree. :D

But just in short, "The Legend" is one of the best TV shows I have seen because:

- AMAZING world building
- vivid and larger than life characters.
- costumes of fabulousness
- dialogue I want to quote now EVERYWHERE
- cinematography and battle scenes of greatness

I am more than happy to send this to you - can you watch .avi? I will be making the disks for savepureness as I promised to her and can make some for you!!!

It is v.good , but it is subtitled and has fully Korean cast (just to warn you where you get yourself into). The quality of .avi for "The Legend" is fine but it is not DVD quality.
Do you like films of the current Korean and Japanese wave? The lead from "The legend" has starred in Untold Scandal (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0380689/) , a Korean adaptation of "Dangerous Liaisons".

I hope you will like this (it is hard to rec something you are in love with :D). It has a real ASOIF feel to it , in complexity of the story and the characters.

Oh, and I'm familiar with some genres of the Far Eastern cinema, but not a lot of it comes this way - a few brilliant horrors, some historical-fantasies... An occasional drama. Not nearly enough, though! ;)

I like Asian cinema - they seem to be coming with so many interesting things recently. I like dramas too!
