The Last of the Mohicans icons

They seem to be all about my fascination with Hawkeye's hair.

The icons are free to share, please let me know if you would like any text added.

OOohhh my gosh these are beautiful. I have been wanting an icon of Alice like #21 very very badly, so I am snatching it up and clutching it tightly!! :-D Also snagging #5, because the composition is so fabulous, and of course I will credit you. These are all gorgeous, and I love your cropping (#s. 3, 10, 11, 1, and 23) and your coloring is so vibrant, and yet not overdone. Lovely lovely lovely!

Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for the lovely comment - I appreciate it very much from an excellent icon-maker as you!

Aww! That's sweet of you to saw that. :-D Thank you.

I love the color scheme of your layout, and that's one of the prettiest Rossetti's that I've ever seen. He's an artist that I kind have have a love/hate reaction to. Either I think they're wierd and ugly, or I think they're beautiful, as in the case of your header. Strange, huh?

I have been having this layout for a while.. Sometimes I want to change it but..

About Rossetti paintings, I understand what you mean! I also find some of the paintings rather strange (but still , very much drawing me in).. It is interesting considering that almost every his painting is of the same woman..

Ha ha! I feel exactly the same way. For a while I'm content with my layout but then I start getting new ideas and I start wanting to change it. ;-)

Yes, they're both beautiful and hauntingly strange in a different, unique way. They're almost "raw" in the sense that they are not "beautified" like some other artists seem to do, but they are not hideously ugly, either. And yes, I believe her name was Elizabeth Siddons, and she was the muse for many artists, IIRC. If we are to accept Rossetti's depictions of her as lifelike, then I would say she had a very dramatic form of beauty.

What do you think of John William Waterhouse?

What do you think of John William Waterhouse?

I love him so. :D But seriously - he is so unique! As if there always is some air movement on his paintings! Wind, storm, you name it!

[identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com 2008-01-25 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, he is! And you're right about the movement, but I also love him for his lighting. There is always such an aura of beauty surrounding his subjects that I just can't seem to get enough of them. ;-)

What else do you like? :-D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
I really like Edward Burne-Jones from Pre-Raphaelites - he is so perfect in every little detail and colours. Just recently I have discovered Vilhelm Hammershøi and I am still reeling. And I LOVE illustration art to fairy tales (I love fairytales). :D

I have added your LJ to my friends list if this is fine!

[identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com 2008-01-28 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, I like most of the Pre-Raphaelites I think. :-)

Sure! :-) I'm flattered.

Ah yes, I like most of the Pre-Raphaelites I think. :-)

Me too - it is hard to believe they were "unpopular" at one time..

[identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I know. Idiots. What were they thinking?? And Tissot wasn't very popular in his day, either. What do you think of him?

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I love his works - everything so soft!

[identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes!! And pink and fluffy and pretty!!!! lol.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! (And I love your icons!)

[identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! :-D (and you know I like yours, because that's why we're here, lol!)

Hee! Thank you!
