Ultraviolet

I liked Ultraviolet very much indeed. This series are about vampire hunting, without a fang in sight but with very interesting moral questions. Main characters: former policeman Michael Colefield (Jack Davenport), former soldier Vaughan Rice (Idris Elba), former medical scientist Dr. Angie March (Susannah Harker) and former priest Pearse J. Harman (Philip Quast) There are some little minuses for me in Ultraviolet, mostly i am totally not-in-love with Michal’s love interest Kirsty.

Meet Vaughan Rice - a soldier whose men were taken by leeches(vampires) in Iran. He is beyond attractive. He is tall, moves like a beautiful beast and speaks in this very low voice.

Meet Dr. Angie - medical scientist , whose former husband was recruited by vampires. He was some kind of genius and she is still pining for him..

I think Vaughan is in love with Dr. Angie. He speaks even softer when he is around her.

And he has this vulnerable expression in her vicinity:

There is this incredible scene when Vaughan finds himself in the empty locked warehouse with 4 vampires in the coffins which are about to open.
Just about when the coffins are ready to open , Vaughan rings Angie on his mobile. But he doesn’t say anything.

And then he is ready to put a bullet in his throat, just not to let vampires take him.

It is one of the most heart-breaking moments I have seen recently. But of course, don’t fear, Vaughan is more than that and finds his way out.

When Vaughan is saved from the certain and terrible death, he is not thinking about himself, but about doctor Angie. But all doctor Angie can think of is her late husband, a vampire himself, and should she bring him back from undead death. She invites Vaughan for coffee, and instead of falling into his arms, she asks for information about her late vampire husband.

She has a beautiful back, and of course we are meant to see it through Vaughan's eyes:

And of course, Vaughan can’t resist her charms

and tells her everything.

And then he kisses her on a top of her head. I just so much adore this kissing on a top of her head, I just can’t describe how special I think it is!

To give her credit, Angie goes all pink at this .

And then when Vaughan is ready to go, she almost grabs him by his hand. My heart does “thump”, but of course, they are just friends, they have a battle to fight, and can’t have weaknesses, because the enemy will exploit those weaknesses. Because of it, Vaughan pulls his hand away and goes.

I need, i absolutely need to find some Vaughan/Angie fan fiction!

Gorgeous caps, dear! I love this series to pieces, and I'm glad you're enjoying it! :)

I adore this series! Who was your favourite character?

Oh, it's hard for me to choose! I also don't like Kirsty - she's too annoying!

Vaughn and Angie (tied; they're both amazing) if I really had to choose, but I like Jack Davenport's character, too.

I also don't like Kirsty - she's too annoying! I try my best not to criticize, but this actress had this one single impression on her face (of disgust) and was always - "I don't believe this". And after all the trouble Michael went through to resurrect JAck, did she understand ?

I am totally in love with Vaughan (repeating myself, HUH!), i am pretty much looking forward to "The Wire" season 2, but to tell the truth - Idris Elba is so amazingly different there then in "The Wire". He is a fabulous, fabulous actor..

I like Michael too, though in a different way from VAughan ;)

Oh my god you've mentioned the moment I was trying to write about the other day but words escaped me. When my brother and I watched the scene with Vaughan trapped in the warehouse we were terrified - we really like him, too so we were in dire suspense, wondering if he was going to die!!!! Gah.

Yes, i too was all - O, i can't believe he is going to die, i can't believe it.. An then the solution was great! And Idris Elba, he really played it exceptionally. I hope you get to watch "The Wire" where he is playing the bad guy (though i am immensely attracted to Stringer, i must admit). I wonder - where do all my principles go in the case of Stringer?? Where???

Eeeeee! Darling, I totally want to pimp "Ultraviolet" - can I use your caps? And I'm so glad you love it - I do too. (Kirsty=GAH! I love the other girl who likes whatshisface though.)

And lastly, Idris Elba is an AMAZING actor - if you can bear to watch it (because it is absolutely heartbreaking) you should see him in "Sometimes in April."

I totally want to pimp "Ultraviolet" - can I use your caps? You are very welcome!

Kirsty=GAH! I love the other girl who likes whatshisface though

I also liked her, she was sort of "I have a backbone and even if he doesn't love me, i am going to help him" and plus she had some brains about her. It is such a pity, that this drama had a lot of potential development for the future and never went further then 6 episodes. What might have been! The priest guy who was dying from cancer was interesting for mee too.

I will definitely watch "Sometimes in April", i am in Idris Elba mood. ;)
