Tree of heaven
This is a sign of a serious obsession – it is Sunday evening and all I can think of is my new Korean drama obsession "Tree of Heaven". ;D It is just fabulous beyond words and it is pushing all my favourite buttons all at once. I am swooning non-stop.

1. A hero with the dark past who wants to stay away from the love of his life because he doesn't want to hurt her - Check
2. A hero brought to redemption by the power of his love – Check
3. Snow fights - Check
4. Million Red Roses that the hero gets for the heroine – Check
6. Incredibly stylish black garb our hero is dressed in - Check
5. Bare feet and exemplary abdominal muscles – Check


A scene that gets me so much that I had to go for a jog around the park after watching it, or symbolical feet washing

Oh, this was so intense that it send me into spin: Yon Suh has a notion that "If your feel aren't cold, how will your heart can be hot" and because of it he goes around with bare feet to stop his heart from been so dark and cold and he never quite manages to get rid of this freezing feeling in his heart. So he goes around barefoot. But when he meets Hana again she buys him socks and tells him that his heart will never be cold again because they are together. And she puts them on for him. ** swoon **












And then he looks at her like this:

And this is a symbolical feet washing and so much "my thing".



And when he looks at her like this I have to stop watching and go out for a jog around the park. This drama will be so good for my fitness level.





But of course, the main thing about "Tree of heaven" for me is the male protagonist Yoon Suh played by Lee Wan who possesses a wonderful combination of masculinity, angst and boyishness. Plus he has a "speaking" face..

Let's go to the beach
I am looking forward to Lee Wan's previous drama "Let's go to the beach". It looks like something happy and bright, but I am sure that it will have some great angst too. A synopsis from Drama Wiki:

"This drama is about a hotel's lifeguards. The story will be based on the love between an illegitimate son, Jang Tae-pung and his half brother (different mothers), Jang Tae-hyun and the hotel owner's grand daughter, Yoon So-ra." Illegitimate son - sounds sooo good to me!

Anyone saw it? Is it good?

UpdateEEEEEEEE! I am watching an episode 1 of "Let's go to the beach" and this is a love from first sigh. Stroppy but gorgeous Jang Tae-pung (Lee Wan) + Spirited Yoon So-ra + so happy and funny from the word go. YESSSSSSSSSSS! I lurve it!!! dangermousie, this reminds me of "My Girl" so much.

EEEEEEEE! I just finished episode 1 and it is truly GREAT! Lee Wan plays an illegitimate son of a hotel chain owner. He is cheeky and has got a temper, but inside he is gold! His brother is some kind of jealous jerk who is trying to put him down low in a front of their father. And there is a girl Yoon So-ra ,spirited and funny, that Tae-pung met by chance. Yoon So-ra in her stead met an evil brother as well and seems to have fallen in love with this evil brother. Lee wan is soooooo cute in it and just has joined the Life Guards because this is what his evil brother put him to do. And it is genuinely funny and fast going……. I think I will be hardly sleeping today…

It reminds me of "My Girl" and "Full House" a little, very cute and funny. And Lee Wan is doing swimming!!

Sorry for gushing!! I really really love it!

EEEEEEEE! SO true! The first time we see him in epoisode 1 he is a swimming instructor and is wearing swimming pants only. :D

And there is some of "Dirty dancing" in it too. Tae-pung seems to be good at everything including dancing and business, but his brother throws all his business proposals away. So Tae-pung seems to think nothing about himself, but he is so fab. I am gushing again

I haven't seen Hanadan yet - My brain is completely Lee Wan at the moment.

And I reached the second bath scene in "Tree of Heaven". I feel I am going to watch this until I drop.

And he wears some very cool suits during the last 1/3 of the drama. I have almost mainlined it, I have already finished episode 9. So much fun , but it seems I reached the angsty part. The Evil brother seems to be very hot too. :D

Sounds great! I just finished downloading. I'm glad the quality is pretty decent. I saw the first couple minutes of episode one to see Lee Wan. He was in his swimming shorts!!! O_o I probably did unhealthy amount of oogling there. I can't want to see it! :)

I was dreading the ending too. I think you have perfectly good reason to ignore the ending for Tree. *hands tissues* Just in case you decide to watch the ending. :)

Oh yeah, I finished 18 vs. 19. It started off really cute and funny but then it pretty boring. There's some cute moments but it just was fluffy the rest of the time. I was able to do my homework while watching it. I guess that's my warning for you. It really sucks when doramas start off well and after it drags to the end. :( It was a happy ending though.

I thought that their first scene together was so cute and funny. He was so funny chiding the ladies and I loved it when she pushed him into the pool. They are so cute together. But I like it even more now (I am on episode 9) when they are starting to get serious feelings for each other and angst.

I usually leave off Friday night/Saturday morning for dorama watching. I'm planning on finishing Hwang Ji Yi(i think I have 4/5 episodes), Goong S ep 13, and I'm still wondering about Hanadan(I'll try to hold out :D). Hopefully, I can get it in. :)Are you watching anything else other than Beach?

It could be a good thing to watch during the "heavy studying" perion. Light and fluffy and feel-good. Be aware of addictiveness, though! I think I ended up watching 6 first episodes in one go!

Oh, I only downloaded a couple of episodes, I always try to check first. I never worry about the limits anywhere. I am still not sure about the limit in Megaupload Premium account. Where did you read that it has a limit? It seems to say "unlimited download" in FAQs. I must be confusing something.

Oh, i'm confused now. I thought the limit was 250GB but that's for online storage. Wow, so it no limit at all? That's amazing if it is. Just usually when I pay for downloading account there's usually a limit of how much you can download. I can't see to find it on megaupload. I have about 38 dramas/films downloaded and I didn't even count the ones I already saw that I dl through MU so I don't think you'll have to worry about a limit. :)

Wow, 6 episodes in a row it must be very good.

It is just so easy to watch. I love angsty dramas, but can't take them in really big doses. On the other hand, sometimes a minor character or a storyline irritates me in some dramas and then I can't watch too much of it too. LGTB is really easy on eyes, and all characters are quite loveable. And it is not much about secondary characters anyways.

I agree, I can't take angst dramas in large doses either. It drives me a bit crazy? Yeah, it's hard to watch for me as well when there's a annoying secondary character. All of this reminds me of how great Snow Queen was. It had a perfect amount of everything and no annoying secondary characters. :) Yay, I'm glad to know it's not heavy on secondary characters. :)

I am on episode 13 of LGTTB and it is wonderfully angsty. Yep, I definitely like this drama. (I am also of episode 8 of "Tree of Heaven" and though I love love love it, it is ever so slightly over the top. But the gorgeousness of Lee Wan totally makes up for it. :D

EEEE!! I'm so glad you're still enjoying LGTTB. I still didn't get around to seeing it yet but that's probably a good thing since you said it's highly addictive. I plan to start on it on Wednesday(EE! That's when The Devil is out(that sounds little creepy, lol. Maybe I should call it by it's korean name Manwang) and I want to start Kurosagi(I should start that one before I see Nobuta right?). Yeah, Tree get's really over the top dramatic. That was one of the reasons why I didn't want to watch it. My mom saw it couple months ago and she couldn't stand the over dramatic scenes. I agree, If it weren't for wonderfulness of Lee Wan I wouldn't have finished the drama.

Hehe, I hope we won't scare Sasha. I was noticing how creepy it started to sound. We all sounded tad like satan worshipers since we are saying "The Devil is coming or I'm so excited for The Devil", lol ^^ We are just a day away from the release! I hope there's a chance that the subs will come out at the end of the week. I'm kind of tempted to watch it raw.

I plan to check those out very soon. I was planning to watch some after my finals on Wednesday while I wait for my brother to come pick me up but I noticed I forgot to bring the power cord here. :( So I have the external hard drive with usb cord but no power. :( I have quick random question: For the MU account does it allow you to download on the day it expires? I've had accounts before where they let you on that day and others don't. Thanks! :)
