I know exactly what you mean about bad endings, but it depends on how the book has touched my deep feelings... I mean, I know it could seem stupid, but the bad ending of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, that's all a sad story, didn't hurt me so much because even though it's so tragic, it's the most beautiful love story I've ever read...
