The Good Wife: Alicia Florrick

I went to the dentist today, seems like a good day to post some pictures. You see, there was that huge "getting to know you" post on game_thrones, with various questions like favourite books and films and characters. My favourite ever character has always been Miss Marple, ever since I was 12. I want to be Miss Marple when I grow up.

I had a good time filling the questionnaire, but as soon as I posted it I remembered that I have forgotten Alicia Florrik, the lead character from "The Good Wife:" series. So when I was at the dentist, I kept thinking that I must make a post about Alicia. I love Alicia so much that it is personal for me, there is just something in her character, so strong but so vulnerable at the same time that strikes a chord with me. I hope Julianna Margulies will get an Emmy for her role this year, and I am glad that Josh Charles was nominated as well (I have never expected him to be such a good actor, he delivered a very nuanced performance in the series).

The Good Wife is also such a fabulously female-oriented show, and I love both Khalinda and Diane , especially Diane. And generally, as a show, it is very well-written and acted.






















PS : If anyone knows where to find any of The Good Wife icons, please let me know. I have been wanting some for ages. It is a odd thing, though - something like Game of Thrones seems to have huge amounts of icons everywhere, but I haven't seen much of The Good Wife ones.

PS 2: There is not many male characters that I want to stab with a rusty knife as much as I want to do this to Peter Florrik, Alicia's husband.

I only recently discovered the glorious perfection that is The Good Wife. I love this show. Seriously, seriously.
But yeah, finding good icons is haaard. I simply used the lj search to find some :) most makers usually list the shows in their icon posts, thank god. Maybe I'll just make a few once I have time again :D

Same here \o/ There's just so much chemistry there, it's amazing. And I love that they took their time to make it happen and all that. Haww. Also, I have a crush on Will myself :D He makes me believe that I might find an awesome husband if I decide to be a lawyer :D

At first, I thought Will is just another Peter and will try to use Alicia, but he so won me over after their kiss in the season 1 - I mean, a man is a saint.

The lawyer is such a fabulous profession - you are awesome. (And yes, it always seems like one where you can meet good husband material :D)

I haven't even looked. Maybe it's one of those shows .. there's some fandom activity but it's not that geared towards iconing? It always puzzles me what gets watched but not iconed, or gets watched and iconed like CRAZY.

But yes! The Good Wife is the only show I'm reeeeally dying to come back on the air. So good. Always such a good, satisfying watch, and thankfully whilst being a legal procedural show, it's not all about the law.

It seems such a popular show over all, and does good in ratings, and has a fabulous OTP - I can't understand why LJ is not all over it.

Everytime I remember the end of the season 2 I smile.

I've only seen season 1 of The Good Wife and it took me a little while to warm to Alicia, but now I love both her and the show. I think it's terrific. Can't wait to watch season 2. If you do come across any nice icons, let me know.

I feel in love with the show rom the "first sight". I didn't trust Will for a while, though, but I think this was meant to be this way. We were supposed to find out what he is like slowly. I adore him now, he more than proved that he loves Alicia.

Alicia is such an amazing character. A lot of love goes to Kalinda, and deservedly so, and Alicia sometimes gets overlooked in fandom. I can't say I exactly relate to her per se, but I feel for her so much, and am kind of in awe of the quiet brand of strength she displays.

I’ve been thinking about taking a look at this series, I’ve read and heard good things. I think I’ll give it a go now before most series starts up again in the autumn. Note to self should really be to not start to watch more series; I already follow a heap of them.

I’ve given in to your evil nagging ;) and have given the show a go, thanks for the push. So far I am undecided, but I’ll finish the first series and see how I like it then.

I enjoy the female-oriented view point (in this vein I can recommend the show Rizzoli and Isles as well) and so far the writing and acting has been great, and very well casted too, some great actresses and actors.

Absolutely. I was apprehensive towards the end of the season 2 - I kept worry and thinking "How on earth are they going to resolve this?", but the ending of the season has exceeded any of my expectations.
