Most of us slow down when we see a wreck. We rubber neck in one way or another. We may even try and guess what happened.

Yesterday, all four fire trucks roared out of the station, but I could tell from the sound of the sirens they didn't go far. I was tempted - So tempted - to walk to the end of the block and See more than just the black smoke belching from a not so distant structure. Instead, I prayed, like I do each time they roll out: for the firemen, the ones they are assisting & went back to work because that's the Best I have to offer. Anything else would just be getting in the way or being a Gawker at some one else's tragedy. ::shudder::

When I see the Fuss evolving on LJ - I've forced myself to stay away. When fic is mocked or a post / poster ground into the dirt - I pray and try and find something that is Good and Thoughtful on LJ to contribute to or ponder on - like your posts. Otherwise, I become what makes me ill.
