Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are back from Florence. I must re-write my list of 5 favourite cities because Florence will be right there at the top. We had wonderful holidays and Mr. Alexander made some gorgeous pictures. In short:

- I have seen so many paintings and sculptures by Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo Da Vinci that my head is still spinning

- Ice-cream in Florence is the best in the world

- In Florence everyone has a bike or a scooter and uses these means of transportation whilst wearing high-heeled shoes and without wearing any protective suits.

- I have developed a great like for Mr. Iain M. Banks' novels during the course of holidays

Fannish metters

I am in desperate need of a new Western show to watch and will be thankful for any recommendations. Just before the holidays I have discovered absolutely great (although short) Canadian show "Durham county". I highly recommend it and will try to make a proper post.

Asian drama matters

I am watching "Orthros no inu" and loving it. OMPH! Takki is so grown up and pretty! If only Nishikido Ryo and Takizawa Hideaki were cast in the Japanese re-make of "Mawang" instead of the ugly leads that were cast for "Maou"!!!!!

Welcome home! Everyone I know who's ever been to Florence has raved about it. I can't wait to see your photos. As for Westerns, my favorite was the show (not the movie) How the West Was Won, with a very young (and cute) Bruce Boxleitner, but it's never come out on DVD as far as I know. :-(

Orthros is hilarious! I love that Takki manages to avoid standing directly next to Ryo-kun unless he's on a riser or something... ;P

Welcome back! I'll be very much looking forward to pictures and a full travel report later.

Hee! I've seen that in other parts of Italy as well. I have no idea how they do it, and how they manage to remain so stylised all the time.

Welcome home! We've miiiiiiiiisssssssssssed you!

Welcome back! I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in Florence. :) You're reminding me that I never posted a single photo of my trip to Italy this summer. I'm looking forward to yours. :)

In Florence everyone has a bike or a scooter and uses these means of transportation whilst wearing high-heeled shoes and without wearing any protective suits.

Haha, yes, so true everywhere I've been in Italy, and yes, it's rather amazing. This being said, it's pretty much only in the cities that protective gear isn't worn. Our friends who ride motorcycles always wear some kind of protective gear (padded or armored jackets, etc.) when they travel outside of the cities on highways or other roads.

Welcome back dear! I'd totally forgotten about your holiday. So, you had fun in Florence. :)

You are watching Durham County! Hee, I have it waiting, just haven't found time to watch beyond EP1 but what I've seen was great. The 2nd season is not quite as good, I've been told.

In fact, I haven't had time to watch much anything. Gearing towards my trip to Seoul....

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great time and I'm looking forward to your photos!

Iain (M.) Banks's novels really are very nice indeed. I like both his sf novels and his more realistic stuff.

I though OnI started a bit uneven, but it's been getting better and more exciting with each episode. And Takki is so gorgeous and intense as Ryuzaki! :)

I'm going to ignore that 'ugly' comment about the Maou actors, LOL - I thought Toma was super handsome and I loved Ohno in the role. I need a drama to watch, still, since Iljimae didn't work for me, perhaps I will try this last one you mention since I really like Ryo!

Also, welcome back! I'm SO JEALOUS.

Welcome back! :) It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Florence. I look forward to seeing pictures. I've been meaning to try "Orthros no Inu", but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Good to have you back! Feel free to check out my posts on Durham County season 1 (http://stabbim.livejournal.com/190980.html) and season 2 (http://stabbim.livejournal.com/191355.html). They are currently filming season 3.

It's a fantastic show everyone should watch, IMHO. It's probably not for everyone, though.
