Fridaly pictures return! The Covenant

I have spent today off work because of a tummy bug. I slept some hours and I spent some hours in fannish pursuits, like taking screencaps from "The Covenant" movie. :D

Whatever way you look, "The Covenant" is not a good movie. But it is such a pretty one! This collection of pictures is dedicated to the fact that the prettiness like this CAN NOT BE IGNORED.

I see what you mean about the pretty. :

Hee! It looks like one of those films that thinks "Acting? Basic plot? Why do we need those? We have pretty boys instead!" And right they are. ;)

This is the film where they are male witches or something isn't it?

And sorry to hear about you being sick. Hope you feel better fast! :)

I pretty much need to see this movie immediately.

I absolutely loved The Covenant, for three main reasons:
1- the opening sequence was pretty cool
2- the plot, while highly unbelievable and somewhat stretched, was ok for this type of film
3- the pretty!!

Ok reason 3 is probably the main one tbh but I'm sure people can appreciate that. ;) After seeing this film I thought Steven Straight would make a great Jacob. I mean...he has that nice, warming smile, seems to have a Jacob-like hug (idk how to word it but I know what I meant! hehe) plus he's so toned...and doesn't look half-bad with a shirt off, you know? ;)

I don't even remember coherently what the movie was about. :D

i love steven strait. he really is a perfect jacob. and this movie is so full of pretty, it's fantastic!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair, the acting is not at all bad. The dialogue is restricting and it is rather big credit to the young actors that they manage to pull it off somehow. Apart from Taylor Kitsch who seem to be just exactly the same as in FNL the guys were delightful to watch. :D

I am already better - it is just one these tummy things!

{{{{Hugs}}}}} Hope you're feeling better!

Yeah The Covenant was pretty lame and although you're right about the pretty; I feel like a creepy dirty old woman when I start lasciviously eying such youngsters - I mean, my son is only 4 or 5 years younger than these boys!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I was surprised when I found out that he is Stephenie's "perfect Jacob" as he doesn't look too much of a Native American but after "The Covenant" I TOTALLY AGREE. HE IS PERFECT!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It is gorgeously done, as you see. :D

[identity profile] likeknives.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I love this.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with you - I also like the cinematography and the use of music in the film. Plot wasn't at all annoying and this is a big plus. :D

Stephen is so much a perfect JAcob. It is just the way he is so .. sunny and happy and warm..

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I 'fess up - I watched it twice already. :D

Apart from Taylor Kitsch who seem to be just exactly the same as in FNL

hee! Now I'm left picturing Riggins doing magic. But you are probably right in that the dialogue is restricting. IMHO it isn't always the best script writers who work at these movies. And I must say the cinematography looks gorgeous.

And good to hear you are feeling better. :)

I have been feeling a bit run down lately - this is usually a sign I need to start exercising again! But thank you very much - I am feeling better already, it is just a tummy bug.

I feel like a creepy dirty old woman when I start lasciviously eying such youngsters

I know the feeling. :D I have passed through the same when I "discovered" Asian drama (full of attractive young actors :D). But at the end I decided that this is all fictional and imaginary and that in RL I am a sensible lady who always likes her men older.. So I decided to stop worrying. :D

It is amazing that so much pretty doesn't burn the screen :D

And I must say the cinematography looks gorgeous.

Of, it totally was beautiful and it had some interesting music too..

Now I'm left picturing Riggins doing magic.

I do not want to criticize Tim, but I always thought that his slightly "stunted" demeanour is an artistic intent. But no, Taylor is just like this NATURALLY, it seems..

[identity profile] earlgrayhot.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL ... well I'll try to be less uptight about it but I tell you, drooling over a youngster like Alex, I'm OK with - he's a fully grown man ... but these boys ... well I feel kinda icky LOL Maybe that's how Mick feels about Beth ;)

[identity profile] starsfallforus.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
he is the embodiment of jacob black. srsly. i don't know anyone else who would be perfect for the part. thanks for sharing. <3

i may turn these to icons if i have time. i'll make sure to credit you.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you are right - Mick is so confused in his guilt that he most likely views Beth as a daughter of some kind. Which is not TRUE, Mick!!!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
At first , I thought: "He doesn't look like Native American". But when I saw him act I don't think I'll ever imagine that anyone else can be better.

Oh, please use the screencaps any way you want. I am not at all worried about credit.

[identity profile] frotcake.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Steven Strait's smile makes me smile. I love him. Just for that.

[identity profile] earlgrayhot.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I can see him being very confused having seen her grow up from child to teen to young woman to full fledged womanhood - and now developing romantic feelings - his self loathing can only spike! *snuggles him* poor baby :)

[identity profile] edwardscupcake.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my.

Steven looks absolutely delicious!!

I'm surprised all this prettiness didn't burn the screen!:P
