10 Reasons why Beth belongs to Mick and 15 reasons why Mick belongs to Beth, in pictures

I really liked the last episode. There was no Josef and no Coraline but the last scene between Beth and Mick with TEARS in their eyes and much angst and Mick saying "you know why this can't work out" and meaning – "because I am a monster and because I'll only hurt you so you must stay away as everyone I care about gets hurt" made me cry. The scene was beautiful and symbolic as the sun was rising at the same time as Beth was kissing Mick and they both were trying to keep their tears away.. AWWWWWWW!

I was temped into Mick and Coraline in the previous episode but NO!! Beth belongs to Mick and Mick belongs to Beth!!!

And if this is not a proof than what is - they are completely mirroring each other:

Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love. Albert Einstein
There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved. George Sand
If I know what love is, it is because of you. Herman Hesse

Mick belongs to Beth , because:

1. He was so afraid she will see him as a monster! He was so vulnerable and full of angst when she found out his blood-drinking habits!

2. Photographic evidence: There was a super-nova born at exact time when Beth gave her blood to Mick in the wilderness (please notice the bright spot in the middle of the screencap below). This huge surge of energy can not be ignored!

3. Mick tries to avoid talking about this but they have some kind of supernatural connection that goes beyond pure attraction after Beth's blood donation. He said so himself in his voiceover! He feels her beating heart!

4. She even drives him dorky!

5. He avoids Beth's attempts at sex conversations. My limited experience with men tells me that the only thing they are always ready to talk about is sex. So – strange?? More than strange!

6. He had the cutest of smiles known to a woman when she kissed him – as [livejournal.com profile] ladytiramisu said, I wish a guy would make that expression for me!

7. And he wanted to have drug-filled sex with her, he really did. Beth was SO silly to break the spell between them and run upstairs.

8. He watches her stealthily, and often. With a silly lovelorn grin on his face.

9. He tells her how awesome she is. All the time. "You are a survivor" – isn't this a confession?

10. He tells her "my casa your casa". Why would a man talk Spanish to a girl he doesn't love obsessively?

11. She makes him smile, even when he is feeling uneasy about leaving his house in her snooping hands and going to war with a crazy vampire revolutionary. He just can't help himself around her.

12. By [livejournal.com profile] neuriel : He knew as soon as he heard her voice that she was freaked out about something (when he calls after she finds photos of herself in Mick's office). Aw, he knows her so well.

13. His first thought after falling off a cliff, losing his fancy electronic device and being badly damaged is "Beth!"

14. She makes him cry. He is a 85-year old vampire and she makes him cry like a baby (and me too!!!) with her "You are my guardian angel" talk.

15. When he tries to warn her off, just in a vain 100-something attempt again, he does it very unconvincingly. VERY!!

Beth belongs to Mick , because:

1. Beth talks about Mick in her sleep, when she is in bed with attractive-looking vest-wearer Josh.

2. She pulled a stake out of him. Imagine what could have happened if she didn't?

3. She gave him her blood!! Her Blood! I totally would have thought twice about doing any such things! This looks like it hurts!

4. And she didn't pretend to forget it, saying "Oh, I give blood all the time. I am a blood donor" or something like this.

5. She gives him steamy "As you wish" line whilst locking her eyes with his.

6. She wants to talk about sex with him. A perfectly legitimate idea, Beth, we need to know if there are any unexpected differences in vampire anatomy.

5. She kissed him. FIRST!! Squeeeeeeeee!

6. Their conversation seems to be filled with innuendoes. "I was more worried about the size". Heeeee! I have a dirty mind sometimes, I apologise.

7. Beth mirrors Mick and Mick mirrors Beth. He makes me laugh here – he stares at Beth's hand as if he wants to say "What is THIS?".

8. When Mick's wife is back Beth is heart-broken. I can't find a joke here – she is so sad and lonely because she has to listen to his talk about Coraline, always Coraline.

9. This is a kind of smile she gives to Mick's ex-wife: "I am going to smile to you because there are many people around us but when we are alone I am going to do STAB! And some more stab!

10. She smells his clothes!!

PS: Feel free to add any more reasons. Reasons for why Mick belongs to Coraline are not accepted in this post. :D

But it was good to see the preview and to get prepared- I could have had a heart attack otherwise. I think Mick is just so confused and he is still living in the past but if and when "this" happens with Coraline - may be he will realize what a mistake he made? (Here is me trying to find some good from a bad, bad situation! :D)

I think "Moonlight" is catering for "adult" demographic so well.. It is such a pity my mother and sister are long way away in Moscow - I imgine my mother would have liked "Moonlight" to bits..

So you're telling me I should give "The Wire" a try?

"The Wire" is excellent but it depends if you like this type of stories. It is about drug scene and various other things (like politics) in Baltimore and it is very unusual for a TV show - long archs. Some very serious questions are considered and without pulling any punches, for example, the fall of some of the industries (and impoverishing of the working class with them) on example of Baltimore docks. Plus Lots of swearing.

I had so many different emotional reactions to what I had just watched that I couldn't sort them all out, so that is why I liked it mostly 'cause I've not watched a movie in a long time that brought that kind of reaction from me ;)

I agree with this and it was the same for me - the film is definitely excellent (even though my own perceptions are very uneasy). The film is very close to the book (as far as I can remember)

I agree. This is one of those times where I'm glad I watched the preview. I'll be prepared... no matter what happens.

I know it sounds stupid, but maybe Mick wants to test her. I doubt she's drugged him. He seems to want "this", too. I just hope he isn't doing it to distance himself from Beth. Obviously, no matter what he does, he can't drive her away. That's the only other argument I can think of.

I don't know. I don't like this... But we'll see. Maybe it'll all make sense. *sigh*

My thinking was - if Coraline survived may be Lola survived too. These old vampires seems to be too powerful to die, may be only beheading can do it. (But Josef must be the same!)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you watched the preview? I just had.....

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
** thankful grin **

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
There definitely is a connection between them and it's getting stronger. Loved that Mick could tell that she was upset when he was talking to her!

This seem to have magnified after Beth shared her blood with him. It is like he is tuned to her every emotion now.. But WHEN will he tune into her desperate love for him???? Oh, man - I don't think he even believes she loves him (and this is so confusing considering he knows her every emotion).

[identity profile] lincolnimp.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
no i haven't.
you don't sound too excited about it ...

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a classic moment when I want to hit a hero on the head - MICK! You understand every emotion, every heartbeat of Beth's and why don't you understand that she can't live without you!!!

[identity profile] earlgrayhot.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
my mother and sister are long way away in Moscow - I imgine my mother would have liked "Moonlight" to bits..

Well if they speak/understand English ... there's always BT airlines ;)

"The Wire" sounds interesting but it might not be my cup of tea ... I don't go so much for gritty reality type of shows ... I'm more about Urban Myths (ML, Buffy) or Fairy Tales (Pushing Daisies) LOL

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree. You're right that it shouldn't be Mick who kills her again... she may be a crazy psycho vampiress with no morals, but he still loves her. Maybe he'll find out the truth about Morgan/Coraline in this upcoming ep.

I don't think he loves her anymore myself but may be he does. We will see more. He definitely needs to have a closure where he will decide whom he loves and where he belongs to (and we can trust it will be Beth at the end, I am sure :D). But killing – hmm.. For everyone's good I hope she'll kill herself or something..

I ended up looking up the rest of the lyrics for the song and then I ended up downloading it. I love the lyrics, I can see why you made it your username and everything!

I am so glad you love it!!!!!! EEEEEE! Leonard Cohen is one of my favourite singers – his poetry is so wonderful.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
HEEE! You made me laugh so much with "Steamy sex scene in the freezer" comment. Yep, I hope they will give us something "serious" soon.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
WHat gets me the most is how in much in self-denial Mick is himself. The guy has some serious issues..

[identity profile] trystan830.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
These old vampires seems to be too powerful to die, may be only beheading can do it.
yeah, i like that in this mythos. it takes a lot to kill an old vamp. *eyes Maya (my OFC)*

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so glad you liked!!

I love the "you're jealous" scene too. They mesh so well.

That was so wonderful - Mick seem to have a whole range of facial expressions reserved especially for Beth. He seems to be so much in denial, poor thing!!!

Re: WOW!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so gald you enjoyed this!

I think the chemistry between Alex and Sophia is what makes this show amazing...It's a real love story. It's a rare thing that we see on tv these days....

** nods ** the show is so lucky to have such great actors and so matching to each other. The girl that was supposed to play the Beth's part before Sophia was awful!

Personally, I'm tired of triangles...they exist on every single show. The shipper in me doesn't like Coraline coming back...however, Shannyn is a regular castmember indeed. I'd hope they'd find another love interest for Coraline...

I like love triangles, when they are well done. But I usually end up rooting for everyone and wanting everyone to be happy., As you I like when "the third wheel" falls in love with a new, non-love-triangle person. Josef and Caroline will do nicely for me. :D

She makes him happy! In episode seven, Mick admits to Josef that Beth is the reason why he's happy...

I MUST RE-WATCH THIS! THIS IS SO GOOD!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
the main female character in the book, who is human, has to drink some vampire blood from a vampire and now he can feel her emotions. Not to give too much away about the book. So yeah, I think Mick might have something similar going on with Beth.

Oh, I like that – I need to find these books, it seems!

Mick's feelings for Morgaline are so different from what he feels for Beth. I don't even know if there is any love there, just fascination. Morgaline is a femme fatal, that's all there is to it. Why men don't see through these women I don't know. I suppose men like them for the same reasons women like bad boys. :) *shrug*

I am not sure if he loves her or not too – sometimes a person can love two people at once (with two different types of love) but I wonder what this is. I think there are two sides in Mick, one is his dark side and this side "loves" Caroline. As much as a "dark" person can love, of course – it is mostly just obsession and sexual thing. But real Mick , his real side, loves Beth,,

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I know it sounds stupid, but maybe Mick wants to test her. I doubt she's drugged him. He seems to want "this", too.

I think Coraline appeals to his "dark" side and Beth appeals to the real Mick. I liked what [livejournal.com profile] neuriel said in her lJ – the make-up on Coraline's tattoo is going to wash off at least. :D

I just hope he isn't doing it to distance himself from Beth. Obviously, no matter what he does, he can't drive her away. That's the only other argument I can think of.

I am actually very interested to see how Beth will react – she will be very hurt, but will she show it? They still will be meeting each other by "chance", I am sure. :D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no - they don't understand English and they don't understand Internet. :D I am sure "Moonlight" will get to Russia eventually, I even saw "Rome" on NTV this summer.

I watch many different things, their appeal is different. I meant to try "Pushing Daisies" (I didn't get any further than the pilot)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I won't spoil you - sometimes previews are confusing and everything turns out differently..

it's over at [livejournal.com profile] trys_writer... the first post is an index of my Supernatural fic. it's in there. :D

I'm sure you're right. BTW, what do they and you think of "Nightwatch" and "Daywatch" ? I've not seen the second one yet :pout:

And if I may ask, don't feel obligated to answer, but where are you (generally : States, Europe, Canada)?

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I have seen "Daywatch" - it was much better than the first film for me as it concentrated more on the story and characters and less on the special effects. And the special effects were much better too. I loved "Daywatch".

On, no secret - I live in the UK, in Yorkshire..
